Camping in Parking Lots
So, there are all these people down at the new Chick-Fil-A waiting for it to open tomorrow. They have tents and are camping in the parking lot so they can be in the first 100 customers to win a free Chick-Fil-A meal once a week for a year. They're camping in a parking lot in January for 52 free chicken sandwiches. I would really like to go down there and talk to them, tell them I'm with the newspaper or something and want an interview. And then ask them WHY?!? Can you really not afford to buy one meal a week from Chick-Fil-A? They managed to buy tents. Maybe they're all homeless and those tents are their homes anyway? Do they just love winning things? Do they just enjoy camping in a parking lot on the side of a highway in the winter? Is Chick-Fil-A such an integral and important part of their lives that they just must be first in line, whether they win anything or not? Their lives are so dull and meaningless that spending a couple of days sleeping in a freezing parking lot sounded exciting to them? They either don't have jobs (again, maybe they're all homeless?) or they took vacation time for this. ("What do you mean, let's go to the beach this year; what's wrong with camping in a parking lot?") Of course, the only thing I can think of that I would wait in a line overnight for would be Led Zeppelin reunion tickets or something equivalent (what would be?).

Crisp Sheets
What's the deal with "crisp sheets", wanting to crawl into bed between nice, clean, crisp sheets? Clean is good, but crisp? When I'm thinking sleep, I'm thinking soft. Why would I want to sleep on something crispy? I might as well be sleeping on a layer of lightly baked cheese flavored crackers. Crisp should be for snack foods and spring mornings, not sheets.
